Pamora Farm, a Filipino – European joint venture, located at Barangay Garreta, Pidigan, Abra, Philippines, operates a free-range chicken farm using slow growth free-range chicken breed from France.
Pamora Farm started to raise free-range chicken in the year 2000, as backyard farming in just 1,000 square meters land area. Initially, the objective of the PApillon & MORAdos family, hence the brand name Pamora, is just to have their own source of organically grown chicken. The market started when family relatives, friends, friends of friends including foreign residents in Manila had tasted the Pamora free-range chicken.
Pamora Farm, as a pioneer in this venture, had invested on the production process standardization to be able to achieve the quality that complies for both local and international market.
Pamora is now considered one of the leading brand in the free-range chicken sector and the only NMIS accredited “AA” Poultry Dressing Plant in the Cordillera region, and the only dressing plant in the Philippines that caters exclusively free-range chicken and using “Air-Dry Chilling” process that is compliant to the EU standards on poultry dressing facilities.
After several training, growing/raising and the development of the market of quality chicken meat, the farm turns operation into a serious business venture. The company’s production of dressed free-range chicken began in the mid-year of 2002 with a monthly capacity of 200 broilers for its niche market, mainly A & B class in Abra and the Metropolis. As a result, to the increasing demand of Pamora’s Free-range Chicken, the company turns into a Corporation status in 2004 with foreign investors as partners. The development of Pamora Farm is very serious in its infrastructures for its long-term operations.
Today, monthly capacity has reached several thousand of premium free-range broilers and other chicken meat products, in a four (4) hectares property, and production volume still increases due to market’s demand for quality organically grown free-range chicken meat.
Pamora Farm’s operation is fully integrated from raising/growing of free-range chicken, dressing to packaging, ready for distribution, ready to cook and ready to eat.
Aside from Pamora’s Free-range chicken meat productions, the company is also producing and selling free-range chicken eggs.
Pamora Farm is also manufacturing the French Traditional “Home-made” Pates, as value added to the free-range chicken meat production. Different Pate flavors/varieties made out from free-range chicken are being produce for consumers, both local & foreign resident/consumers.
Pamora free-range chickens are dressed and processed in the Pamora Poultry Dressing Plant duly registered, accredited, and certified by the National Meat Inspection Service of the Department of Agriculture.
Among interesting facets of Pamora Farm are the Ecological-Agricultural Tourism activities. Within the farm itself, interesting agricultural & tourism adventures awaits every visitor and guests.
Surrounding Pamora Farm is a wonderful country side featuring the Abra river and the Cordillera mountains, where one can go trekking, camping, picnicking by the river, swimming, bamboo rafting, kayaking, fishing, horse-back riding, carabao sledge riding, sight-seeing including visits to different agricultural farms and tribes.
